“It is in collectivities that we find reservoirs of hope and optimism.”

Markie Mitchell, MSW, LICSW, MHP
Welcome! My name is Markie Mitchell. I am a heterosexual cisfemale who identifies as Biracial. My pronouns are she/her. I currently live and work in the Seattle area. I am originally from the midwest and love to travel, cook, hike, and learn. I have a master’s degree in social work with a focus in clinical mental health from the University of Minnesota. I serve a wide array of individuals. I have a passion for bringing my clinician experiences into the lives of others. Norma Therapy Group was founded for the sole purpose of healing and growing. A few years ago, I had a vision to live a simpler life as I was consumed by the daily chaos society presents to us. My partner and I decided to sell all our belongings and move into a 1978 Airstream, Norma. Though Norma has been sold since then, the values of simplicity and minimalism are life values I have learned to appreciate.
As a psychotherapist, I strive to incorporate the same values I learned from my life experience to therapy. We are all simply humans striving for a greater wellbeing and best versions of ourselves. This isn’t always easy with the noise of the world. My goal is to help you develop and improve interpersonal skills so you can be the best version of yourself.
In addition to serving individuals through psychotherapy, I have also created a children's book with a focus on mental health, specifically for children of color who have experienced trauma.

What if the biggest strength in your life is the complexities your life has brought you? The way you have persevered through life circumstances and how those have brought your perspective, adaptability and admiration. You are a strength. You are of value. You are the best complexity full of knowledge, joy, and willingness to be here.
My name is Allie Ash, a human being, adventure seeker, advocate for critical questioning and client centered care. I come from a social work background that makes me eager and curious about the way we engage with the world around us and how it describe our stories.
I hope that this process for you will be a time of reflection and radiance as you process your own individuality in a place of gratitude, gentleness and respect.

Dustin Ruttenberg, MSW, LICSW
Hello! My name is Dustin Ruttenberg, and I’m a biracial, Black-identifying Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Seattle (he/him). Before moving to the Pacific Northwest, I spent six years in New Orleans supporting clients in outpatient healthcare and legal defense settings. That work shaped how I show up in therapy, grounded, steady, and focused on real-life change. Outside of work, I love baseball, playing intramural sports, and exploring the eclectic neighborhoods that make Seattle feel like home.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure what your next step is, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I work with teens and adults navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, and burnout. I’m especially helpful for people who look high-functioning on the outside but feel stressed, disconnected, or weighed down internally.
My style is warm, conversational, and collaborative. We’ll focus on what’s happening in your life right now, build practical tools you can use day to day, and explore the deeper patterns underneath stress, self-esteem, and relationships. I integrate CBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and client-centered therapy, and I take a trauma-informed approach.
Therapy with me is active and relational. You can expect real conversation, genuine support, and a space to build insight and momentum over time.
